The Second Century Fund

The precursor of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business was established in 1924 at the annual conference of law professors. Launching a new academic association for faculty teaching and researching legal studies in business schools was a transformative act, requiring boldness and a clear sense of purpose.

One hundred years later, as we prepare to celebrate our centennial, we aim to secure our future, our role in business education, and our impact on society. With these goals in mind, the ALSB is embarking on a fundraising campaign to launch the association’s next 100 years.

To support our members and advance our discipline, the ALSB solicits donations to the Second Century Fund with the goals of:

  • Funding special events and speakers during the Centennial Celebration;
  • Seeding innovative teaching and research activities to benefit the discipline;
  • Expanding membership and ensuring access for diverse legal studies faculty; and
  • Achieving financial stability to buffer unforeseen circumstances and provide resiliency for ALSB programs and publications.

Our goal is to raise $100,000+ to support this important work.
