ALSB Centennial
100 Years of Excellence

Welcome to the 100th year anniversary of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB), the academic professional association for faculty in colleges of business who teach and research legal and ethical subjects.

Join us throughout the 2023-24 year as we Celebrate, Explore, and Envision how the ALSB advances knowledge of law, ethical behaviors, and an appreciation for justice in research and teaching. Our goal is to enable students to better understand the world in which businesses operate and to help business leaders better understand the impact of their decisions in society.

Join us for a series of special events, including a Centennial Speakers’ Series, commemorations by regional associations, and our not-to-be missed Centennial Conference at the historic Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, August 5-11, 2024.

The ALSB supports and provides opportunities for impactful, innovative scholarship and engaging, student-focused pedagogy.

A Blue Ribbon Committee, appointed by the ALSB Executive Committee, is examining the role of Legal Studies in Business in schools and society, laying the groundwork for the next 100 years of education, scholarship, and service.

When Joseph Wharton established the first business school in the United States in 1881, he made sure the curriculum included a course on business law. Founded in 1924, the ALSB is one of the longest operating business academies in the U.S., whose members teach and conduct research in the areas of legal studies and business ethics.

Please consider supporting the ALSB’s next 100 years with a tax-deductible gift to the Second Century Fund. Donations in any amount are welcome and greatly appreciated.
